Ashley J. Hewlett, author of Cailey’s Best Day, is from Richmond, VA.
Ashley hopes you fall in love with the main character as much as she did, considering she is a spitting image — from appearance to personality — of her daughter, Brennan.
Throughout her years in school, Ashley has been thankful for amazing teachers who encouraged a love of books and reading, which led to her becoming an English teacher.
Ashley has degrees in English Education and Reading. Her first attempt at writing a children’s book came from a children’s literature course she was taking while working on her master’s degree. (Thank you Dr. Robnolt!)
Favorite Children’s Book: Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney (I couldn’t decide!)

Sarah Morgan lives in Richmond, Virginia and is a college student pursuing a degree in Studio Art as well as Media Arts & Studies. She is thrilled to be illustrating Cailey’s Best Day, which is her first illustrated children’s book!
